Energy Efficient: The Airfree technology uses a small amount of electricity.

How it Works — Airfree Air Sterilizers - Onix 3000, Platinum 2000 and P1000
Airfree creates a convection current that draws cooler ambient air into its incineration chamber. The chamber eliminates microorganisms, and then releases cooled and cleaned air into the environment without affecting room temperature or humidity. The Onix 3000, Platinum 2000 and P1000 air sterilizers are designed to be placed on the floor (but not on thick carpeting), in a vertical position away from curtains or blinds which may obstruct airflow.
Do not attempt to use it sideways, under furniture, or with its bottom air inlets and or outlets blocked, preventing air to flow in and sterilized air to flow out. If any of the above occurs, the Thermo-dynamic sterilizing ceramic core will be disconnected as the unit will not work properly in those conditions and after about 1 minute, the anti-stress light will start blinking to call for attention, indicating poor installation, or eventual malfunctioning. After a few seconds of being properly installed the anti-stress light will stop blinking.
Always keep the air sterilizer turned on.
Recommended time for 70 - 90% microorganism reduction is 10 days. (Results may be noticed after 1 week).
Install 1 Airfree per each 450, 550 or 650 sq. ft. area with a wall height of 8 ft.
For the best results, keep the sterilizer plugged in the same room.

Minuses:
Waiting period: Best results are achieved over a period of continuous use for 21-30 days, however, test results show a 70 - 90% reduction in microorganisms in 10 days. We think the wait is worth it to kill and keep spores, bacteria and viruses at a minimum.
Passive system: Relies on natural air flow or forced air heating and cooling
Not effective for certain allergens: Unfortunately heavier organic particulate matter such as dust or cat hair cannot be picked up by Airfree’s passive system. This is also the case for harmless dust left from deactivated allergens.
Not effective for odors: While Airfree incinerates allergens and microorganisms, it doesn't have carbon filters which remove odors from the air. This, however, is the reason it is maintenance free and no cost to run.
