The beauty of the Air-O-Swiss 2055D air washers is that in addition to being a humidifier, it traps pet hair, large dust and pollen particles in its base unit which can be easily cleaned. It uses its patented mineral stick for anti-bacterial protection of the water and does not require expensive replacement filters unlike most humidifiers. - Equipped with an Ionic Silver Stick that keeps the water free of harmful bacteria. The Stick releases silver ions in the water over a long period (approximately one year). It’s self regulating and maintenance-free
- Unit is fitted with a hygrostat that measures the relative air humidity and automatically switches the appliance off when desired level is reached. The setting for the relative humidity ranges from 30 to 70% while relative humidity between 40 and 50% is recommended
- Fragrance capsule lets you optionally humidify and scent a room simultaneously by simply placing a piece of cotton with your favorite scent into the capsule

Care of AIR-O-SWISS Air Washer Humidifiers - 2055D Digital Model
The recommended cleaning intervals depend on the air and water quality, as well as operating times. The upper part of the housing and fan should be removed and wiped out thoroughly with a damp cleaning cloth once to twice a year. Every two weeks the water tank and base should be cleaned and rinsed with a household detergent. Every 4 weeks the humidifying discs should be cleansed since it will accumulate a thin lime scale that increases the humidity output. They can be easily removed by using the multifunctional fragrance container, which also acts as the disc key.
Replacements: The ionic silver stick is a unique, patented solution for killing bacteria and viruses and needs to be replaced approximately once a year. For information on how the ionic silver stick works, (Click here for more information).

Pluses:
- In addition to being a humidifier, it traps pet hair, large dust and pollen particles in its base unit, which can be easily rinsed and cleaned out
- Uses an Ionic Mineral Stick for anti-bacterial protection of the water, and requires no expensive replacement filters unlike most humidifiers
- Unlike other air washers, the 2055D model is equipped with a humidistat to monitor humidity levels throughout its use
- By having the single unit clean and humidify the room, there is more space as compared to having multiple units to perform the same tasks
- The room air can be humidified and scented at the same time by placing a piece of cotton wool which has been sprinkled with a fragrance into the fragrance capsule.
- A 10 year warranty is the best we've seen for a humidifier.
Minuses:
- Water container tray is not sealed so there is possibility of spillage when cleaning
- Awkward and heavy to carry which may cause problems for the elderly or those with arthritis
- Does not effectively clean the air as compared to having a separate air purifier
- Due to the small opening, cleaning the tank can be difficult and more time consuming
Summary:
Instead of placing two separate units to humidify and purify a room, the 2055D digital single unit and its technology can perform both tasks leaving more space for other home décor items. The special humidifier discs inside constantly turn through the water and remove many impurities from the air.
