These air cleaners are designed for those who suffer from Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS) made from environmentally friendly materials that will not off-gas. They feature all metal housing and inert gaskets with no glue, bonding agents or rubber. They use organic cotton pre-filters and powder-coated, refillable carbon canister. The carbon used is a custom blend of carbon decided on by the user after sampling the carbon test kit to ensure no adverse reactions to the carbon. The AirMedic Plus MCS features 18 lbs. of carbon and the MCS D features 25 lbs. of carbon to provide the highest degree of adsorption for a wide spectrum of chemicals, gases and odors.

MCS Safe Construction: all metal housing, metal capped HEPA filter, powder coated carbon canister, organic cotton pre-filter, inert gaskets and odorless, water-soluble AFM bonding. Absolutely no neoprene, rubber, Styrofoam or glue used. These features prevent dangerous off-gassing and the air cleaner is recyclable at the end of its useful life.
Improved Particle Filtration: with 360° air intake, HEPA filtration (medical-grade for the MCS and micro-HEPA for the MCS D) and improved sealing of the filters, motor and variable speed blower. The AirMedic Plus MCS has excellent particle filtration of 99.97% at 0.3 microns certified by an independent DOP test. (A DOP test evaluates particle penetration and air flow resistance properties of a variety of filtration materials for filtration efficiency up to 99.999% of the most penetrating particle size of 0.3 microns.)
Deep Bed Carbon Filters: these units use a custom blend of granular activated carbon chosen by the end user to fit their needs and sensitivities. The MCS unit features 18 lbs. of carbon with a 2" deep bed. The MCS D unit features 25 lbs. of carbon with a 3" deep bed for the highest degree of adsorption for a wide spectrum of chemicals, gases and odors.
Carbon Test Kit: is required before purchase of the AirMedic Plus MCS or MCS D air purifier in order to select the custom carbon blend. The carbon test kit allows you to "try before you buy" so you do not invest in an air purifier that may aggravate your chemical sensitivities. The kit includes 5 samples of proprietary carbon blends. The cost of the kit is then deducted from the purchase price of the unit.

The AllerAir AirMedic Plus MCS and MCS D are the replacement air cleaners for the older AllerAir 5000 MCS and D/MCS. Both models offer the same quality of VOC chemical filtration but the AirMedic Plus MCS and MCS D air cleaners offer improved particle filtration thanks to their 360° air intake, variable speed control and improved sealing of the filters and motor.
