Introduction to Pristine Comforter Dust Mites Covers
Pristine® Cotton Plus is a 250 thread count special tightly-woven microfiber 75% polyester, 25% cotton blend that creates an extremely effective allergen dust mite barrier while providing the comfort of a cotton sheet! There is no plastic membrane attached to the back of the fabric. These dust mite comforter and duvet encasings feature a rust-proof zipper closure. Pristine cotton comforter dust mite encasings have been tested in independent laboratories to provide protection against dust mites and the allergens that they emit.
Note: These are designed as protective lightweight dust mite encasings. They are to be used underneath a decorative comforter cover.
How it Works — Pristine Comforter Dust Mites Covers
If you wake up in the morning with itchy, watery eyes, nasal stuffiness, runny nose, and in some cases asthma you may be allergic to dust mites and their allergens. These allergic reactions to mite allergens can be a year round problem.
Dust mites live in mattresses, comforters, carpeting and upholstery. These encasings provide a barrier for up to 99.95% of mites and their allergens. Since we spend almost one third of our lives in our bedroom it makes sense to make it a healthy enjoyable place to be. One of the easiest, most economical solutions is to encase your comforter with zippered tightly woven encasings. Pristine Cotton Plus encasings are cool, comfortable and are air and moisture permeable. There is no noisy, hot, sticky plastic layer attached to the back of this fabric. We use them ourselves on our beds at home!
For optimal protection, an effective antimicrobial treatment, AEGIS Microbe Shield™, is added to the Pristine Cotton Plus. This EPA approved protective finish inhibits the growth of microorganisms on the fabric as well as controls mold and mildew odors, soiling, staining, and deterioration. Bonded directly to the fabric, this antimicrobial shield is permanent and cannot be destroyed by repeated washings.
