Features of Aquasana Rhino Whole House Water Filters
Reduces unwanted contaminants: Reduces chlorine, odor, taste and sediment larger than 5 microns by >99%.
4-stage filtration process:
Stage 1: The sediment pre-filter uses a replaceable cartridge that mechanically filters down to five microns. This important first stage filters out any sediment that may be in the water supply. When that sediment is removed, it cannot clog the main filter, thus preventing reduction in water flow and/or filter life.
Stage 2: Uses zinc and copper mineral media to remove chlorine. A process called "water atomization" fuses granules of zinc and copper together, creating a natural element media. This combination initiates an active filtration method, possessing a characteristic known as redox potential, that can alter the molecular structure of chlorine and turn it into harmless chloride.
Stage 3: Enhances taste and improves clarity with bituminous activated charcoal media. Contains large granules of bituminous - activated carbon for improved filtration. This medium is recognized by the EPA as the "Best available technology" for water filtration.
Stage 4: Contains a small granule of coconut shell-based activated carbon for an expanded surface area to filter out remaining contaminants. Provides the highest reaction kinetics and adsorptive capacity.
High capacity filtration: Certified for a 300,000 gallon capacity at 8 gallons per minute. This means the pressure will not drop.
Enhances taste and clarity: Bituminous charcoal enhances the taste and improves the clarity of your water.
Virtually maintenance free: Main filter needs to be replaced every 3 years, while pre-filters should to be replaced every 3-6 months.
Certification and standards: Unlike bottled water, water filters are required by law to document their purity. Aquasana stringently tests its water filtration systems. The whole house filtration system meets the NSF's (National Sanitation Foundation) standards.

Normal installation requires 1-2 hours. We recommend using a licensed plumber to insure proper installation. The main filter should be replaced every 3 years. Pre-filters should be replaced every 3-6 months. Filter replacements do not require a licensed plumber.
