Imperial Delight Silk comforters are a luxury once appreciated only by Chinese and Japanese nobility. Even today, in many Asian countries, silk is the preferred fill for sleeping comfort. Imperial Delight Winter Weight Silk Comforters
Covered with a rich, supple 19 mm silk satin, just slightly sandwashed for a "buttery smooth" feel. Winter weight is best for moderate to cold climates, working well all year round- except in the extreme heat of summer. It is comparable to a medium weight down comforter. Central air conditioning and heating does of course make a difference, which can extend the seasonal life of this silk comforter.

Care of Imperial Delight Silk Comforters
All silk comforters should be used with a removable duvet cover for protection and added beauty. The use of a cover is also required under the terms of your warranty. The cover can be color coordinated to your bedroom and can serve as a bedspread, blanket, and, if you wish, as a top sheet. Most importantly, a duvet cover will preserve and protect your comforter so that frequent cleanings are unnecessary. In fact, if properly covered, silk comforters should almost never require cleaning. If the comforter does require some cleaning- it must be dry cleaned.

Pluses:
- Workmanship: We were impressed by the workmanship and liked the square baffle box construction on the winter weight comforter and the butterfly baffle box on the summer weight comforter.
- Luxurious fabric: The Imperial Delight lives up to its name and delighted us. This silk comforter was soft, drapable and unbelievably luxurious. Winter weight has a softer cover then the summer weight due to mm of silk used and sandwashing.
- Naturally hypoallergenic: Silk is naturally hypoallergenic and inhospitable to dust mites, saving us the additional purchase of a dust mite encasing.
- Winter weight: The weight of the winter silk filled comforter will work well for all year round use in moderate to cold climates. The silk was much warmer than we expected when we first used the comforter.
- Summer weight: The summer weight comforter is ultra thin and will work great for tropical and very warm southern climates.
- Best Value: Given the weight of silk fill, this silk comforter got our vote for the best buy for the money.
- Quality of Silk Fill: All silk is not the same in quality and we saw less "knots" (which naturally occurs in silk) in this silk comforter than in other silk comforters.
Minuses:
- Silk Comforter Care: A good silk comforter will last about 5 to 10 years
if properly treated and cared for. This includes always having a duvet cover on it and never trying to wash it yourself which would invalidate the warranty. A silk comforter needs professional dry cleaning.
- Duvet Cover: We believe that a duvet cover is absolutely essential and is needed in order not to void the manufacturer’s warranty.
Summary:
The Imperial Delight is the best value for a luxurious silk comforter.
