- Standard HEPASilent™ Filters: HEPASilent™ technology combines the best of both mechanical and electrostatic technologies to quietly trap 99.97% of 0.1 micron particles (on Speed One).
- Optional SmokeStop™ Filters: SmokeStop™ filters offers 0.7 lbs. of coconut shell activated carbon impregnated with a 70/30 blend of Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) and Potassium Iodide (KI) for removal of smoke, gas, chemicals and odor (sold separately).
- Extremely Quiet Operation:BlueAir’s low-density filters clean larger volumes of air more quietly than any other unit in the industry.
- Filters Resist Contamination: Blueair filters naturally resist contamination from bacteria, viruses and mold, without chemical additives or weekly washes. They are made of polypropylene, which is a waterproof material.

How it Works — Blueair 201 and Blueair 250E Air Purifiers
|
Unlike the other Blueair purifiers, these purifiers' intake is on the back of the machine. The air is pulled in through the pre-filter, the Hepa-type filter and then the ionization chamber. The particle is given a charge in the ionization chamber, which makes it cling to the filter media better. Clean air is finally released into the room from the top of the machine.
