How it Works — Bosch Premium Electro Duo HEPA Vacuum Cleaners
The 3-in-1 accessory tool:
Located on the underside of the deluxe handle, the accessory tool easily snaps on and off from its hidden storage compartment. When removed from its storage spot, the 3-in-1 tool is ready to use as an upholstery nozzle. To turn the tool into a furniture brush, flip back the upholstery nozzle and twist counter clockwise to expose the brush. To use the tool as a crevice nozzle, twist clockwise to retract the furniture brush and pull on the opposite end to fully extend the crevice nozzle. Crevice nozzle clicks into place at two spots when fully extended (14" long when fully extended). The tool connects to the vacuum from either end depending on which tool application you are using.

Pluses:
Exceptional allergen control: Bosch has definitely done a quality job making an air tight vacuum that uses true HEPA filtration to reduce airborne particles as you clean. The exhaust filter omitted 0 particles into the air when we tested it.
Quiet: The vacuum had a quiet hum and was not disturbing to use even on a high suction speed.
Protection for your furniture, walls and floors: We were very glad to see that this full-sized canister had a soft protective rubber bumper strip around the canister and the 4 casters also have a rubber coating. The Power head also has rubber coated wheels and a protective rubber strip after the brush roll to protect bare floors.
Unique 3-in-1 accessory tool: We were very impressed with the Premium's neat accessory tool that is a combination upholstery nozzle, furniture brush and crevice nozzle. In the vacuum world it has become all to common to have three onboard tools with a canister vacuum. It was a nice surprise to see something different that is functional and fun to use.
Mini Turbo brush: is perfect for cleaning pet hair from furniture and works great on drapery, stairs and for cleaning the car. Included with the Delxue Package.
Large vacuum bags: We were pleased with the large 1.5 gallon dust bags that the Premium canister vacuums use. Thanks to the neat 3-in-1 accessory tool that is stored on the deluxe handle rather than in a compartment on the canister, there is extra room in the canister to allow for the use of a large dust bag.
Nicely designed vacuum hose: We found the flexible in-cord hose with 360° swivel to rotate nicely as we vacuumed along eliminating any unnecessary wrist strain. We felt it added to the maneuverability of the vacuum and were impressed by its thoughtful design - the end of the hose attached to the canister is wider than the end attached to the power brush to help prevent blockage and increase airflow.
Easy to change filters and dust bags: We did not have any problems changing the filters or dust bag. The HEPA and carbon filters are located in a separate compartment than the dust bag and pre-filter. The HEPA and carbon filters snap together and snap in and out of place easily.
Minuses:
The 3-in-1 accessory tool can be slightly confusing to figure out at first.
It would be nice to have finger tip suction controls on the deluxe handle. The Premium Canister has a manual slide suction control and the power on/off button located on the canister. The on/off control for the power head brush roll is located on the deluxe handle.
Summary:
This vacuum tested really well for both filtration effectiveness and cleaning performance and we gave it a 4 star rating. Bosch is a German manufacturer who truly cares about making a quality product and it indeed shows through the Premium vacuum cleaner’s thoughtful design. The Premium Electro Duo maneuvers very well for a full sized canister and does a good job handling all cleaning needs quickly and quietly. We were particularly interested and impressed with the unique 3-in-1 accessory tool conveniently stored at your finger tips on the underside of the deluxe handle. Though slightly complicated to figure out when first used, this tool is a nice change from the typical 3 onboard tools available with most canister vacuums. The mini turbo brush included with the Deluxe package is perfect cleaning furniture, stairs and your car. It works great for pet hair!
