Summary:
Quite frankly, we were more than a little skeptical as to why such a strange looking handheld vacuum could be worth the money, especially when it only lasts 6 minutes on a single charge. Once you put it in your hand and start using it, you are instantly converted! It is light, well balanced and easy to use. The Dyson handheld vacuums come in two models, the DC16 which comes with a crevice nozzle and combination dust brush/upholstery tool and the DC16 Animal that has the standard accessory tools and an air-driven motorhead. We put the DC16 Animal to the test on a chocolate velvet couch covered with white cat hair and miracles happened- a couch clean enough to sit on and we had juice to spare as the vacuum only works when the trigger is depressed. We also removed all the dirt from a car which had been used for transporting spring plants, and it did the job without bringing out the full sized vacuum from the closet. We found the dust bin to be both capacious and easy to empty, and its filters are washable. It comes with some really useful extra tools for dusting and upholstery. A charger station is provided for easy storage.
