Introduction to Electrolux Intensity Upright Vacuum Cleaner

Electrolux took the concept of an upright vacuum and gave it a twist by eliminating bulk and improving suction power when creating the Intensity. This compact upright vacuum can quickly be used anywhere and then collapsed down to the size of a canister vacuum for easy storage. The Intensity delivers the convenience of a stick vacuum with more suction power than the leading full-sized upright. On top of that you get the thoughtfulness of HEPA filtration, push button controls at your finger tips and indicator lights to tell when the filter or dust bag needs to be changed. This vacuum was designed for the sole purpose of efficiently cleaning floors while creating minimal hassle for the user! With the lack of above floor cleaning tools the Intensity probably won’t be your only vacuum but it definitely will be the most used and a favorite.

Pluses:
- Easy accessible filters and dust bag makes filter and bag changes a breeze. The HEPA filter snaps nicely in and out of place and the dust bag is clearly labeled so you do not have to guess which way the bag fits in.
- Indicator lights for the filter and the bag save us from the guessing game of when it is time to replace them. This is a feature we truly value.
- This vacuum did a great job of sucking up dirt and debris from the floor when we tested it. It also was really simple to maneuver thanks to the large rear wheels, adjustable telescopic wand, and comfortable handle.
- We were glad to see that all the wheels were rubber coated and that the brush head had rubber bumper guards to protect your floors and walls.
- It was nice to see the automatic cord rewind feature finally added to an upright vacuum. No more messy wraps – yeah!
- We loved how compact this vacuum is for storage once the handle is folded down. The large carry handle on the vacuum provides for easy transportation up and down the stairs or to the closet for storage.
- The finger-tip power controls on the handle along with easy access step-on pedals for the handle release and automatic cord rewind allows for simple, quick operation with out requiring us to bend up and down.
Minuses:
- We found this vacuum to be louder than what we expected. We would not recommend using it when someone is trying to watch tv or sleep.
- The dust bag is quite small with a capacity of only 1.2 qt. Most upright vacuums have large capacity bags, but due to the design, the Intensity can not accommodate a large dust bag.
- This vacuum has only one suction power so you are unable to reduce it to easily vacuum rugs.
- With no accessory tools the Intensity is solely for floor cleaning.
- We found the process of collapsing the vacuum handle into the storage position to be slightly confusing on the first couple of tries.
Summary:
The Intensity holds a unique spot among the other vacuums we carry. It is a compact upright that does not sacrifice suction power or quality filtration and requires less storage space then most canister vacuums. We would recommend the Intensity for someone who wants an easily accessible vacuum that can be quickly set up, easily transported and used to clean carpets and bare floors (but not recommended for delicate bare flooring). With the lack of accessory tools it is not your complete cleaning solution, but is great for quick yet thorough clean ups. Being lightweight and requiring little storage space, the Intensity makes a perfect upstairs vacuum cleaner.
