A thoughtfully designed ION Exchange Filter removes minerals from your hard water, such as calcium and magnesium, to prevent white dust emissions. Also the unit is energy efficient and only uses up to 40 watts on cool mist and 80 watts on warm mist!

How it Works — Home Comforts Ultrasonic Dual Mist Humidifiers
Water passes into the humidified system where it is vibrated, heated and purified. The Warm or Cold moisture system then pulls the air through the top nozzles and spreads moisture-balanced air into the room.
Please note: In order to maximize the performance it is recommended the unit be placed at least 2 feet off the floor to allow the mist the opportunity to evaporate before hitting the floor and to eliminate the carpeting or wood floor surrounding it from becoming damp.
The following situations could contribute to excessive white dust so are recommended to be avoided:
Using water that has been treated by a water softening system could result in an increased incidence of white dust due to the excess sodium in the softened water. Therefore, it is recommended to use water that bypasses the system, bottled, or distilled water.
Use of this product with a negative ionizer air purifier or air cleaner with an optional post ionizing function could contribute to an increased collection of dust on surfaces. If this occurs try operating this product without the negative ionizer air purifier or with the optional ionizing function on the air cleaner off.

Pluses:
It’s a simple, easy-to-use humidifier that requires very little maintenance. The tank is compact and lightweight enough for simple filling and the only replacement part needed is a demineralization cartridge (replace every 6 months depending on water source)
There is a nice dual spout that allows the user to disperse the mist in multiple directions for maximum coverage.
The Home Comfort disperses a comfortable ultra fine mist and can humidify a small to mid-sized bedroom throughout the night when on medium fan speed.
The overheat protection and auto shut-off are helpful safety features and also help prolong the life of the humidifier,
It’s simple design is a good fit for those who are purchasing their first humidifier.
Minuses:
The warm mist is not as warm compared to some of our other warm and cool mist humidifiers. Plus it took a few minutes to reach a warm temperature.
Doesn’t have all the bells and whistles, such as a digital humidistat.
Occasionally there is a "gurgle" sound when running. This happens when some of the water in the tank needs to move into the base of the unit.
Summary:
Our Home Comforts Dual Mist humidifier may not be the prettiest to look at but it is a practical humidifier that offers many of the standard features - such as quiet operation, dual spout and an ION exchange filter - needed to bring relief during those drier months. Plus, you just can’t beat the value! We found the mist to be quite comfortable and soothing yet the warm mist could be a little bit higher in temperature. Overall, this is an efficient humidifier without all the bells and whistles yet will soothe cracked skin, sinuses and other symptoms associated with dry air.
