The stylish Hunter Tower Air Cleaners come in two sizes: a bedroom-sized unit that filters 143 sq. ft., Model 730 and a larger sized unit that cleans a 195 sq. ft. room, Model 736. Both air purifiers tested very well with our product testing team.
Pluses:
High-efficiency HEPA filtration: Our testing team was pleased with the high efficiency of the QuietFlo HEPA Filter, which did an excellent job, even when working alone without the optional ionizer
Separate Ionizer: A unique feature that makes the particles entering the machine “stickier,” which helps trap them better. We particularly like how Hunter made this an option that can be turned on or off
Saves space: the vertical design makes a much smaller footprint than most air purifiers
State-of-the-art features: While both units have excellent features, the Hunter 736 wins the prize for including all the latest features – LCD displays, digital controls, 3 speeds, timers and more for convenient and easy operation
Good Value: These machines are effective, efficient and most of all, affordable
Convenient Filter indicator: We really like Hunter’s filter counters because they tell you how many hours of life are left on your filter, which gives you time to purchase a replacement
Easy filter changes: The front-loading filter system is very easy to access, which makes filter changes a task that can be done in minutes
Minuses:
The carbon pre-filter is a little thin for effective odor control
The digital controls on the 736 model can be overwhelming until you look at the manual and learn how to use them
Neither unit has casters, which makes them a bit awkward to move from room to room – particularly on the larger 736 unit.
Summary:
The Hunter Tower Air Purifiers are designed to clean the air in your bedroom, office or den at an affordable price. The modern tower design conveniently takes up less floor space, which makes them ideal for use in smaller rooms. Both models have high performance cleaning, however if you prefer more state-of-the-art features, then the taller 736 model is the correct choice for you. Overall we are very pleased with Hunter's new entrant in the marketplace that gets the job done, without breaking your pocketbook.
