• Replaceable Dust bag: New larger capacity 4.76 qt G/N bag allows for longer use. Miele dust bags are part of the sealed system design ensuring excellent air quality, optimum performance of suction power and safe use of the full bag’s capacity thanks to the dust bag replacement indicator.
• Standard Floor tools: The Miele Capricorn S 5980 comes with the Parquet floor brush with genuine horsehair bristles and 90 ° rotating head to gently clean smooth high polished floors.
• Optional Brushes: Choose either the Mid-sized Power brush model SEB 217 (10.5” wide brush roll) or the Full-sized Power brush model SEB 236 (13 3/8” wide brush roll). Both Power brush heads have a swivel neck for helpful maneuverability. The 217 is great for deep cleaning and restoring of crushed carpet nap on low to medium height pile carpets with moderate densities. The 236 brush head has 5 height adjustments making it perfect for use on any type of pile carpeting for deep cleaning and restoration.
• On-board tools: Includes 3 on-board tools hidden under the main body of the vacuum: Crevice Tool for hard-to-clean corners and next to walls, a Dust Brush with natural bristles and swivel head for gently cleaning moldings and ornate or carved articles and Upholstery Tool for mattresses, cushions and curtains.
• Power Adjustment: The Capricorn features a 6-level power adjustment for use on different flooring; finger tip controls located on deluxe handle.
• User friendly Controls: Power on/off foot switch, easy to use finger tip +/- controls located on the deluxe handle with LED indicator to adjust suction, convenient automatic power cord rewind switch, dust bag change indicator, filter change indicator, overheating lamp and safety shut-off on overheating.

• We love the larger 4.76 qt. dust bag because it is more efficient and allows for longer use.
• The Capricorn proves to be a “no worries” vacuum with its dust bag and filter change indicators that tell you when it is time to replace a full bag or change a dirty filter.
• For those of us who are doing a million things at once, we applaud the way Miele has incorporated the auto shut-off feature when place the vacuum in the park position. You can now save time by just parking the vacuum and it will shut its self off when you have to leave your vacuuming in a hurry for something.
• The S5’s come standard with the new Parquet Floor brush, with a new improved swivel design which is most helpful when cleaning in hard to reach areas like under the bed. The Parquet Floor Brush has been redesigned with shorter natural bristles and spaces between the bristle sections to provide for maximum suction and longer life.
• The Capricorn can be purchased with either the mid-sized power brush for those of us with med-high pile carpeting and not a lot of pet hair, or the more robust full-sized power brush for carpets that need a deeper, more powerful cleaning.
• We like the sleek, lightweight design of the new S5 models as they are easily maneuvered and carried up or down stairs. The Capricorn weights about 13.5 lbs. not including a floor tool.
• Miele has satisfied our desire for looks and protection, by outfitting the Silver Capricorn with integrated rubber PVC bumpers along the front, back and sides.

• One thing we miss out on with the Capricorn is the lack of the automatic suction adjustment feature found in the Aquarius S5580.
• The S5’s are designed slightly larger and about 3 lbs. heavier then the original S4 Galaxy series.
