Multi-stage Filtration System: This includes an air tight chamber, an active Hepa filter for advanced micron filtration, intensive clean dust bags, pre-motor dense foam filter.

Pluses:
Streamline design with excellent maneuverability: These fashionable vacuum cleaners are fairly lightweight and compact for upright vacuums, which makes them easy to maneuver and store.
Unique roller brush height adjustment button (beater bar): This button allows you to turn the beater bar off in order to easily make transitions and clean flat floor surfaces.
Automatic height adjustment: This feature adjusts the cleaning head in accordance with the height of your carpet for convenient and easy vacuuming.
Variable power control: The S184 has variable power control for ease in vacuuming area rugs, upholstery and other less durable surfaces. The power control also serves as the on/off switch.
Automatic powerbrush shut-off: Once placed in the upright position, the powerbrush automatically turns off to prevent damaging a variety of floor surfaces.
Easy to change and store onboard tools for specialized cleaning: Change the tools as you clean and vacuum all those specialized and hard to reach places – picture rails, baseboards, pleated lampshades, upholstery and more.
Low profile: After tapping on the foot pedal for the second time, the vacuum will lower to the floor enabling you to easily clean under furniture.
Bag change indicator and strong 4.9 quart dust bags: Miele’s new intensive clean type Z bags are durable, strong and a decent size at 4.9 quarts. The indicator on the upper body of the machine notifies you when it is time for you to change the bag by turning red.
Front cleaning edge: The front cleaning edge on these vacuum cleaners allows you to pick up dust and dirt against walls, furniture and more. We only wish the edge was a little longer!
Minuses:
Awkward to remove and re-connect hose support and connection pipe: While we love the length of the hose, we find bending down to detach it and hose support awkward. The hose support must be removed in order to effectively use the full radius of the hose.
No filter indicator light: We like the hepa filters used by Miele, however, we think it would be much more convenient if there was an indicator light to tell us when to change the filter instead of using the trial and error method.
Erratic foot pedal: Not a big deal, but we did find that we had to press the foot pedal down a couple of times in order to lower the cleaning head when we initially began to vacuum.
Summary:
Overall we find the Miele Powerhouse vacuum cleaners to be a good value for the price. The unique style, good maneuverability and easy transitions from carpet to floor are a bonus anyone would want. Best of all, these upright vacuums are easier to store then most upright vacuums with their onboard tools and more compact size.
