To maintain your steam cleaner in good condition and to ensure constant performance, we recommend that you periodically clean the boiler once or twice a year depending on the hardness of your water. Simply eliminate all water remaining in the boiler, dissolve a single package of de-scaling powder (included) in 2 cups of water and then add this solution to the boiler. Leave the solution in the boiler for one night with the filling cap open. Completely empty contents and then rinse three or four times.

Two of our testers took home the T630 and T730A models and put them through the exhaustive test. The initial result from both was "I really liked it!!" The Reliable steam cleaners were used on sealed hardwood floors, tile, walls, grout, exposed brick, glass, rugs, the oven, refrigerator and bedding with exceptional cleaning results. Our testers enjoyed the attachments which made it easier to clean tight corners and appliances. Overall, the Reliable vapor steam cleaners let them clean, clean, clean effectively, safely and for hours!
Pluses:
Both felt the heat of the steam was excellent and made loosing up grout and dirt an easy task
The steam that came out was nice and dry which meant that the surfaces of all tasks were basically dried instantly
One tester used the unit to clean some walls while the other used on exposed brick on a fireplace. Both units provided an effective dry steam that did not produce any dripping, which is a plus when trying to clean walls without making an even bigger mess
The T730A continuous fill unit was able to provide up to 4.5 hours of steam cleaning without having to stop and refill an empty tank. The T630 single fill tank provided efficient steam cleaning for about 2 hours.
The rug tool and dry steam made it very easy for the tester to clean her carpet without the steam cleaner leaving little "puddles" on the rug
Our tester was impressed with the adjustable pressure control dial that is located on top of the handle and easy to control with the thumb. At first, she inadvertently pushed the steam pressure on too high because of how close it was located to the trigger area. Once she got used to it she found the pressure dial very helpful when cleaning crevices and cracks, which required less pressure
The steam cleaners and attachments allowed our testers to clean areas normally they wouldn’t. For example, our tester using the T730A model was able to lift up and remove dirt and soot on her brick fireplace. As you can see from the picture provided in this section, the left center brick was basically free from soot after using the steam cleaner while the right center brick has not been cleaned for some time. They were extremely pleased with the final results after all bricks were cleaned.
For the novice steam cleaner user, this machine gets a bunch of routine cleaning tasks completed at a very modest price point. Overall, our testers were impressed with the quality provided at this value.
Minuses:
The towels that came with the unit were a little small and made the diapering of the large brush head difficult. However, the clips had a very strong grip and were able to handle larger alternative cloth towels
Some of our testers found the attachments could not be taken on and off as smoothly as they would have preferred. One with arthritis complained it was too much of an effort but after some use and practice the attachments got easier to remove
The hairpin trigger was very sensitive to releasing steam but it also made it easier to use after some time of getting used to. At first we found ourselves sometimes producing steam inadvertently
The cords on the units are a little bit too short in most cases but you do have the option of hooking it up to a 6’ – 9’ foot heavy duty extension cord with a three prong plug and rating of 14 gauge wire. We suggest not using an extension cord without these features as it may decrease the effectiveness of operation
There is no safety lock, which is a always nice addition on a steam cleaner
Summary:
With the Reliable vapor steam cleaners now cleaning has never been so easy! Each of our testers couldn’t stop cleaning and in the end gave their house a "new" clean feel (without the use of anything other than water). The steam cleaners also allowed cleaning things throughout the house that they wouldn’t ordinarily clean, such as the grill and fireplace. The only major issues were the length of the cord and the hairpin trigger that made it easy to use but also too easy to release steam in certain situations. After some use they got used to the trigger and were able to add a heavy duty extension cord to make up for the lack of length. All in all, the Reliable vapor steam cleaners provided a fun filled day of pristine cleanliness!
