Mattress and Boxspring Materials:
Both the Latex and Quilt Top Latex mattresses you can choose from contain a 5 1/2" thick layer of 7-zone natural latex foam from the rubber tree (85% latex, 15% fillers for durability), surrounded by layers of pre-compressed staple cotton padding
Royal-Pedic then covers the ingredients with Royal-Pedic's luxurious 100% cotton, Belgium damask fabric
The mattress is then expertly hand tufted with European tufting straps to further compress the cotton padding, and maximize orthopedic back support and comfort
Benefits of a Royal-Latex 7-Zone Mattress / Boxspring:
This latex is so healthy and ecologically friendly that it passes strict European standards. These standards certify that the latex has no chemical properties that would cause a reaction to humans, and that it causes no detrimental impact to the environment during manufacturing. In addition, this latex is hygienic, hypoallergenic and antibacterial. The 7 zones mean that each section of your body needs different types of support and each has a specially chosen formulation of latex inserted to best support it. As a result, these 7 zones combine shoulder and hip flexibility with correct support for the lower back.

Neck Zone
This zone provides a proper level of firmness for your Head and
Neck to help prevent tension and pain in the neck muscles.

2. Shoulder and Upper Back Zone
Because your shoulder is the widest part of your body, it requires
more "give" than the hips or lower back. A hard mattress doesn't
allow your shoulders to contour into the mattress, so it can cause
pressure point pain and circulation problems. This zone provides
the necessary softness for your shoulders to conform in comfort.
For further flexibility when sleeping on your side, two half moon
shaped Pressure Relaxation Channels are incorporated throughout
the width of the Shoulder and Upper Back Zone. Whether you sleep
on your side or back, the 7-Zone Mattress provides relaxing pressure
point relief and spinal alignment.

This zone features the same firmness and Pressure Relaxation Channels as
the Shoulder and Upper Back Zone. It creates soft and supple support for
the calf and provides comfort and pressure point relief to your feet and
ankles when your knees are bent.

4. Lumbar Zone
This very important zone is essential to lower back comfort. It features
the most firmness in order to provide support for the natural curve in
your back and prevent the spine from sagging, thereby relieving tension
and lower back pain. On average, humans carry 40% of their body weight
in their midsection. Without the additional firmness of the Lumbar Zone,
a soft mattress forces your spine into a hammock-like bend due to the
inherent nature of gravity. Muscles become stretched and strained resulting
in stiffness and pain.

5. Pelvic Zone
Hard mattresses force your hips to rest on the mattress surface, thereby
causing your lower spine to bend into an uncomfortable, downward angled
position. The softer, more flexible Pelvic Zone allows your hips to contour
into the mattress for pressure point relief and proper spinal alignment.
Our exclusive, circular Pressure Relaxation Channel provides further mattress
flexibility and comfort when you sleep on your side.

All mattresses come on a "sleeper lounge" base made up of 1000 coils for better comfort. If you select the Level 3 upgrade which has the headboard hugger option, a foam filled base is substituted for the coil boxspring.

This adjustable bed set comes complete with the Royal-Pedic mattress, boxspring, sleeper base, and a handheld control that attaches with a coiled telephone type cord to the bed. In addition, there are three optional upgrade packages available to increase your comfort:
Level 1 Upgrade (Bronze) - Massageonly
The optional massage feature helps you relax and alleviate stress. The massage feature is built into the bed's foundation for upper and lower massage action and it operates quietly. Dual massage motors allow you to massage action at the upper or lower section of the bed. This option also includes a timer which will shut off automatically after 30 minutes so you won't vibrate all night long if you fall asleep with the massage on. There are three levels of massage intensity to choose from - low, medium, or high. You would use the standard handheld control with the telephone type cord for using the massage feature.
Level 2 Upgrade (Silver)- Massage plus a Cordless Remote Control
This upgrade includes the level 1 massage unit as well as a cordless remote control. The remote is similar to a TV or VCR remote in size and does not have the "telephone like" looking cord attached to the hand controller. It is powered by a 9 volt battery. This control will operate the massage as well as the elevation of the head and foot sections of the bed.
Level 3 Upgrade (Gold) - Massage, Cordless Remote Control plus the Headboard Hugger® Mechanism (For twin XL, full XL, and queen adjustable bed sizes only)
This upgrade contains all of the items in the level 2 upgrade plus a Headboard Hugger option. Without the headboard hugger, when the you raise the head of the bed, you will have to reach back to get something off your night table. With the headboard hugger option, when you raise the head of the bed, the base of the bed glides back on rollers and keeps the bed next to the nightstand. This makes it easier to reach for items on your bedside table. The box spring padding for the bed with the headboard hugger option is foam instead of the standard 1000 coils, which will make the mattress feel a slight bit firmer in comparison. If you choose the plusher Latex Quilt Top mattress, the firmness difference will not be that much. We recommend this option for anyone who might have trouble reaching for items on the table, otherwise we recommend the standard coil based boxspring for the best bed flexibility and durability.
Extra Hand Control Option (For Queen, California King (one piece), or Eastern King (one piece) adjustable bed sizes only)
You can order an extra hand control for your adjustable bed, since the second control can be programmed to tie into the one bed. This way each person has the convenience of their own hand control, rather than having to reach over if it's on the other side of the bed.
