Features of Sebo Automatic X Series Vacuum Cleaners
- Sebo S-Class Filtration System - dirt is picked up and filtered through a 3-layer filter bag, electrostatic microfilter, and exhaust filter inside the Sebo vacuum cleaner. Any vacuum cleaners meeting the "S-Class" standards are equivalent to meeting HEPA requirements to filter out 99.97% of pollens, household dust, dust mites and other allergens as small as 0.3 micrometers in size. For particles 1 micrometer and larger, the filtration rate is 100%.
- Automatic Carpet Height Adjustment -Sebo X series vacuums automatically adjust the brush roll to the correct height for cleaning any depth of carpet, rugs and bare floors.
- Easy to Change Patented 3-layer Sebo Vacuum Bags - these vacuum bags are sealable filter bags that are strong and act as a microfilter so no dust will escape when sealed; to remove bag: unlatch and remove the bag chamber lid from the vacuum and the paper bag comes out along with it. Then, place a green dust seal disk into the hole in the green plastic bag top and slip the vacuum bag out of the holder. To replace Sebo vacuum bag: simply slip a new bag into the bag holder on the vacuum lid and then latch the lid back onto the vacuum.
- Sebo Electronic cut out motor protection- automatically protects the motor from damage by items picked up. Also produces significantly more suction when using the attachments.

The Sebo X series vacuums are our category winner for upright vacuum cleaners for a reason. This upright packs superior suction, first class filtration, and user friendly controls and tools into an overall lighter weight model. We like the many optional tools offered with this model as well. Sebo vacuums have not disappointed us yet.
Pluses:
- Move from any pile height carpet or bare floors without making adjustments: The x series offers one of the most consumer friendly features on the market - their upright vacuums have an electronic sensor which automatically adjusts the height of the brush roll as needed. While we recommend using the floor brush for tile, wood, and vinyl, those who like quick pick ups of dirt will appreciate the auto height adjustment.
- Excellent suction: Surprisingly so for a lightweight upright vacuum cleaner. Our testers reported that you never have to go over an area twice. Suction power in the x4 and x5 Sebo vacuums have powerful 1300 watt motors.
- Moves effortlessly: Sebo upright vacuum cleaners are a delight to use and require little effort to push along any surface.
- Moderately quiet: Compared to other uprights, this vacuum cleaner would not be considered noisy.
- Vacuum jam prevention auto shut-off: The Sebo will shut off if the roller is jammed. This is not only a safety feature but it eliminates the potential of destroying the belt and motor.
- Easy to maintain: We found it very easy to clean the roller.
- Low profile for low clearance cleaning: The handle on the Sebo can be lowered to the ground to allow for cleaning under beds, dressers, etc. This feature was appreciated by all of our testers.
- Useful and easy to use vacuum attachments: It is easy to change over to the different Sebo attachments and use them, which we have found unusual for an upright vacuum cleaner. The hose can be removed as you go to do your dusting and get under a radiator, for example, without having to stop and retrieve other attachments. One of our testers was
delighted with "on the fly" close quarter vacuuming and dusting.
- Effective on bare floors: For an upright vacuum cleaner, we found the Sebo cleans bare floors very effectively, which is one of the most often heard criticisms of upright vacuums.
- Large capacity vacuum bags: The Sebo vacuum has a large 1.4 gallon vacuum cleaner bag.
Minuses:
- The Sebo vacuum is a little bulky and heavy to carry upstairs compared to canister vacuums, but not to most other upright vacuum cleaners. The X series are the lightest upright vacuums we have tested.
- Because the Sebo X4 powerhead is so powerful, frail rugs, such as antique Orientals may be be weakened over time, but we recommend cleaning using a floor brush or turbo head tool instead.
- The noise is moderate but not overbearing. You are able to hear the phone ring.
Summary:
Everyone who has tested the Sebo X series upright vacuum cleaners have given them rave reviews. All our testers have voted it as their hands down favorite upright vacuum cleaner. We have sold the Sebos for many years with zero complaints and zero returns. That is a pretty impressive track record. These are powerful, HEPA upright vacuum cleaners and built to last for 15 to 20 years. In our book they cannot get much better.
